Falstaff Cabinet completely disassembled

It’s done, the Falstaff’s case is now completele disassembled. Since all the EM parts are very filthy I thought it would be better to take the case completely apart.
So I removed all electric parts from the plate:

Afterwards the plate got cleaned:

Gottlieb Falstaff just arrived

Yesterday I fetched my “new” pinball, a 1958 Gottlieb Falstaff EM pinball.
The body is in a fairly bad shape, one of the previous owners painted it totally in red, the back of the Backbox is missing.
Electrically there are some broken cables and solder points, and a totally eroded main power supply cabling (220V to 115V transformer).

When they installed the transformer to switch from the EU 220V to US 115V they used very cheap plastic coated wires, most of the plastic has by now disintegrated creating a short in the mains …

Comet Repair finished

Finally it’s done, all repair on my Williams Comet is finished. What’s still missing are cosmetic touchups, but I think I’ll skip them for the time being …
